Andreas Müller: For All Seasons

Andreas Müller: For All Seasons

For All Seasons is a beautiful typographic piece by Andreas Müller (aka Hahakid). It takes the form of a downloadable Windows executable, and hence benefits from native code execution and hardware accelerated graphics. Non-Windows users can get an appreciation of the work from the storyboard.

For All Seasons explores the subject of memory and the passing of the seasons through 4 interactive vignettes. Words become the seeds on the heads of flowers before the wind blows them away, they get swept up in a cyclone or fall like snow and get stuck in the branches of trees. The power of the piece comes from its simplicity and understatement. Because it is hardware accelerated the animation is completely smooth even at high screen resolutions.

It’s worth mentioning that Müller works at the well-known digital media agency Hi-Res, and is a regular contributor to their eclectic blog.
