Last weekend saw an exhibition of generative art in an unusual location: The Danish digital art festival MINE took place in the beautiful Thingbæk limestone mines near Aalborg. The 12 Danish and international artists showed work projected onto the walls of the mines, on screens or juxtaposed with existing art.
Participating artists / groups were: AM:3D, Amanita Design, ExCITe, Mads Høbye, Bruno Kjær, Ole Kristensen, Åsmund Boye Kverneland, Thomas Petersen, Planetarium, Nils Sloth, Stanza and Marius Watz. Unfortunately, the MINE web site doesn’t give a good idea of the works shown, but Thomas Petersen has published a summary with photos over on Artificial.dk.
The event was organized by one/o digital art forum and co-curated by Thomas Petersen (of artificial.dk). One/o is a foundation set up by local resources (including Aalborg University and the Municipality of Støvring) to promote digital art in the North Jylland region.
